After 18 years in sales and sales management, and having reached the age of 40, I found myself wondering if the work that I had been doing was making a real difference - that is, building a lasting legacy - for my family and my community.  When the software company that I helped start-up was sold, I took the opportunity to really explore that question.  My friend Mike Condrey, Managing Partner of the Raleigh office of the Northwestern Mutual Financial Network, was one of the people I turned to for help answering that question.  As a 17 year long policyholder of Northwestern Mutual life and disability insurance, I knew the company and their reputation.  Mike showed me how I could apply my skills to build my own business offering insurance and investment solutions for individuals and businesses.  The work has been difficult but extremely rewarding, and I look back on my decision to join the Network as one of the smartest business and personal decisions of my life.
